SUMMARY:TFW Conference: Building and Strengthening Workers Solidarity
DESCRIPTION:In the last decade\, there has been a shift towards bringing in an increased number of TFWs across Canada. Meanwhile\, programs and policies that can protect and promote their rights and welfare are lacking. And in many cases\, they may be isolated from progressive organizations that can assist them. \nTo address this\, we are organizing a two-day conference this December to create a space where advocates from different communities can come together with TFWs to formulate actions to advance their rights and welfare. \nThe conference\, “Building and Strengthening Workers’ Solidarity”\, will be held December 3rd to 4th at the Unifor Hall\, 326 12th Street\, New Westminster. \nDay one will feature keynote speaker York University Professor Ethel Tungohan\, workshops on various urgent issues\, and a lunch panel of courageous TFWs who will share their “Stories of Struggle and Hope”. \nWe will also have an Art Sale and Solidarity Night with different cultural presentations by TFWs and advocates. There is no charge for the Solidarity Night and all are welcome to attend – and perform. \nDay two will focus on the youth and the role they play in forwarding a progressive movement that fights for the rights of all workers. It will also include an “inter-generational” dialogue that will allow for a sharing of experiences with our elders in the labour and social justice movements. \nThe conference fee is $75 for both days and this includes a conference kit and all meals and refreshments. Partnership and advertising opportunities are also available. Funds raised will go towards our conference costs.

SUMMARY:Court Support for Jose Figueroa
DESCRIPTION:COURT SUPPORT FOR JOSE FIGUEROA \nDATE: Wednesday November 30th\nTIME: 9:30 am to 12:30 pm\nADDRESS: 701 West Georgia (corner Granville)\, 3rd floor. Ask for which room in matter of Figueroa v. The Minister of Public Safety and others \nCome show your support for Jose Figueroa at Federal Court yet again! \nJose’s struggle is not over. In Jose’s words\, “now that I am free to move around anywhere in Canada\, I am still imprisoned with all the legal processes that were started precisely to obtain freedom!” \nOn November 30th\, the Federal Court of Canada will hear the judicial review of the CBSA’s 2009 decision to write a report alleging that Jose was inadmissible due to his past membership with the FMLN. The Federal Court has found that it is unreasonable to refer to the FMLN as a terrorist organization and the Minister of Immigration has made a decision on humanitarian grounds\, but the CBSA is still defending this report. \nIf you can attend\, please confirm to jfigueroa@shaw.ca and omar.chu@yahoo.ca and more details will be provided. Support Jose in his latest and hopefully last court case as he asserts his rights and dignity. \n*BACKGROUND* \nWATCH:\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?list=PLxhC-ATfn0Lt-3CIJkA-jIrm2AqgHTDs_&v=LLpwNVfJB3A \nJose Figueroa came to Canada in 1997 and claimed refugee status. After living in Langley for thirteen years and having three Canadian-born children\, Canada moved to deport him. \nIn 2010\, Figueroa was deemed inadmissible due to his affiliation with the FMLN. In El Salvador\, Jose was member of a university student union that supported the opposition Farabundo Marti National Liberation Front (FMLN). The FMLN opposed a murderous US-backed right-wing dictatorship which was notorious for the use of death squads and torture to silence any opposition\, leading to almost 80\,000 deaths. The FMLN is the current democratically elected government of El Salvador. \nThe decision to deport Jose from Canada was widely criticized. Jose was forced to separate from his family and claim sanctuary at Walnut Grove Lutheran Church in October 2013\, where he remained for two years. \nFinally\, in December 2015\, after years of relentless and inspiring public campaigning\, political pressure and legal advocacy\, Jose was allowed to permanently remain in Canada and finally be reunited with his family.

SUMMARY:All Out Against the TPP
DESCRIPTION:Day of action against the Trans Pacific Partnership in Vancouver\, Coast Salish Territory \nIt’s time to demonstrate to Prime Minister Justin Trudeau: We Reject the TPP! As a part of a month of action against the Trans Pacific Partnership we are mobilizing in Vancouver on November 29th. \nThis action will also be organized in direct opposition to the Donald Trump election in the US. Trump has been vocal in his opposition to the TPP but we do not stand with his bigoted and racist values that inform his opposition. Our oppositions is based in values of social justice\, environmental stewardship and solidarity with people around the world. We stand for justice and united with all workers\, including “off shore” and migrant workers. We reject Trump’s message as firmly as we reject the TPP. \nWe’re opposed to the TPP because this deal is all about expanding and securing the rights and power of corporations. The TPP accounts for an estimated 40% of the global economy and is one of the largest multilateral agreements since the Free Trade Area of the Americas that was derailed by popular movements over a decade ago. \nThe TPP includes an investor-state dispute settlement (ISDS) provision that allows transnational corporations to sue governments over legislation or policies made in the public interest. Environmental regulation and the rights of indigenous people will be undermined by ISDS mechanisms in order to promote investment in extractive industries. The public will pay corporations massive settlements if policy is passed against their business interests. The TPP will extend pharmaceutical patents so that Big Pharma profits while public health is compromised due to higher drug costs. The agreement promotes the continued exploitation of workers around the world by moving manufacturing to where they can find the lowest wage and exploiting workers with unequal status and rights. The TPP undermines local family farms opening up the dairy market to multinationals while also lowering health stands in the industry. The agreement will will expand their rights of corporations on the internet to control information and data while limiting public access to cultural knowledge. And there is so much more (resources are linked below). \nSimply put: the TPP is about giving more power to corporations and limiting the power of communities to defend themselves. We must stand together to stop it. \nIt’s time to take action. Let’s take our opposition out of the closed door consultations crafted by the federal government and bring it to the street. Join us and help mobilize your community to combat the world’s largest corporations as they try to impose the TPP on us. \nThis action is being organized as a part of a global effort. Latin American activists mobilized on November 4th for the 10th Anniversary of defeating the Free Trade Area of the Americas. The central theme of their mobilization is the fight against neo-liberalism and the TPP (https://seguimosenlucha.wordpress.com/). There is also an Autumn of Action that was launched in Europe against CETA and TTIP (http://www.s2bnetwork.org/autumn-of-action/) along with more actions happening in Asia and Africa. In Canada\, actions are being planned for this month and going forward will be posted here: http://www.notppcanada.org/ \nIf you would like to endorse this action please email: hgrewal@canadians.org\nFull list of endorsers of this action will be posted soon!

SUMMARY:Supply Drive & Fundraiser for Sutikalh & Ulluilsc
DESCRIPTION:Join us Monday November 28th to support and learn more about St’at’imc villages Sutikalh & Ulluilsc (both are located close to Lillooet BC). \nFor the past 16 years\, Sutikalh (home of the winter spirit)\, has prevented a $500\,000\,000 dollar ski resort from being developed in the Melvin Creek Valley. Hubie Jim and Doug Dan have been maintaining a small village at Sutikalh with many people coming and going from all four directions\, being part of what Hubie describes as “building community where everyone is taken care of.” \nEarly in 2015\, loggers from Aspen Planers Company desecrated an ancient village site during an illegal clear cut and dumped a huge slash pile into salmon-bearing Junction creek. St’at’imc elders Ken Thomas and Albert Joseph took action to prevent any further desecration by asking Christine Jack to set up camp at Junction Creek to heal and protect these lands and waters. Just over a year of living on the land\, a small village has already been built by supporters. For Christine\, Ulluilsc is a place for people to come together – “We’ve become Ulluilsc – not just Chris or Kenny”. \nBoth of these villages need to remain intact to prevent the unwanted development which has been proposed throughout various areas of St’at’imc lands and waters. \nYour continued support helps with the general maintenance and supplies needed for residents and visitors at both Sutikalh & Ulluilsc. %50 of all donations will go to Sutikalh and %50 will go to Ulluilsc. \nCash donations will be accepted\, but we also encourage people to bring non-perishable food items (Non gluten pastas)\, brown rice\, spices\, canned or dried meat\, candles\, batteries. Wish list items include solar panels and wind turnbines. \n5:30PM Dinner (meat & veggie options)\n6:00 Acknowledgement of Salish Lands & waters.\n(Frogman as MC)\n6:15 Live Performance by RedSoulBluez\n6:45 Film Screenings – “Quiet Struggle at Sutikalh”\, some short videos of Christine Jack at Ulluilsc\n7:45 Live Performance by For Lililth\nSlideshow about indigenous resistance in St’at’imc Nation\nGroup Discussion – How can you support or become involved? \nEntrance by Donation (No One Turned Away) \nWheelchair accessible\nChildmind provided \nEndorsed by:\nDefensa del Ixofillmogen\nStreams of Justice \nThis event takes place on unceded Salish Lands & Waters

We believe that writing is a radical act that can transform dominant narratives about whose lives and loves are important and valued\, and that sharing that writing can empower\, inspire and transform ourselves and our communities. We write and read on unceded Musqueam\, Squamish\, and Tsleil-Waututh land\, and are committed to radical inclusion in our series\, recognizing that access to the world of writing\, literacy\, and even queerness continues to be limited. As organizers\, we endeavour to create a reading series where white-identified readers are always in the minority to ensure a space that centres the voices of Indigenous\, Black\, mixed writers and all writers of colour. All our writers self-identify on a spectrum of queerness that centres trans and femme experiences. All of our events are held in physically and financially accessible spaces\, and with every event\, we make at least one change to ensure that REVERB becomes more and more accessible. We promise to do all we can to create a safer space — bring your suggestions! Check your assumptions at the door; REVERB is a body-positive\, anti-racist\, anti-sexist\, and hella queer- and trans-positive event. \nreverbqueerreadingseries@gmail.com\nreverbqueerreadingseries.weebly.com\nFacebook: REVERB: A Queer Reading Series

SUMMARY:Rally to block Gregor’s injunction against the 58 tent city
DESCRIPTION:Housing rights not property rights! Displacement is not safety!\nRally to block Gregor’s injunction against the 58 tent city \nThursday\, November 24th\n4pm\n58 W Hastings tent city \nBy 6pm on Thursday\, November 24th\, all tent city residents of 58 W Hastings have been ordered to evacuate the site. Almost 20 people are currently staying at the site and they have nowhere to go when the tent city is dismantled. Only one person has been offered housing and all the shelters are full\, including the winter shelters which opened last week. \nThe City is using safety concerns to justify the injunction\, but in reality the injunction is designed to break up and destroy the little stability\, safety and security that the remaining homeless residents of 58 W Hastings have built up over the past months. Displacement does not mean safety for women or anyone. Displacement will thrust the residents of 58 back into the alleys and dark spaces of the city where they will face increased danger from police and anti-homeless and misogynist bigots who act under cover of isolation. \nThe court injunction against 58 W Hastings was granted even though in similar cases last year the BC Supreme Court found that pushing homeless people out of public spaces without offering adequate shelter alternatives is a violation of their Charter rights. In this case\, although 58 W. Hastings is owned by the City of Vancouver\, it is the City’s private property and designated for the City’s private development not public use. \nThe fight against Gregor’s injunction at 58 challenges the rule of private property rights over peoples’ lives. The court ruling that empowers the police displacement of 58 means the homeless-free appearance of Vancouver’s downtown core and the power of private property (even a fenced-in empty lot) overrules homeless people’s lives. \nJoin 58 W Hastings tent city residents on Thursday as they protest the City of Vancouver’s homeless hate laws. In the midst of an unprecedented housing crisis\, we want the City to accommodate tent cities not displace them! We want homes not shelters! And we want an end to all homeless hate laws! \nRead more about the injunction in the Volcano’s special newsletter about 58 W Hastings:\nhttps://www.thevolcano.org/2016/11/14/november-14-special-newsletter-on-the-58-w-hastings-tent-city/ \nThe rally is taking place on the unceded coast salish territories of the xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam)\, Səl̓ílwətaʔ/Selilwitulh (Tsleil-Wauthuth) and Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish) peoples.

SUMMARY:Unfree Labour? Meet the editor\, Aziz Choudry
DESCRIPTION:Over the past decade\, Canada has experienced considerable growth in labour migration. Moreover\, temporary labour migration has replaced permanent immigration as the primary means by which people enter Canada. Utilizing the rhetoric of maintaining competitiveness\, Canadian employers and the state have ushered in an era of neoliberal migration alongside an agenda of austerity flowing from capitalist crisis. Labour markets have been restructured to render labour more flexible and precarious\, and in Canada as in other high-income capitalist labour markets\, employers are relying on migrant and immigrant workers as “unfree labour.”

SUMMARY:Jobs\, Justice and the Climate
DESCRIPTION:Please join us for this exciting forum on connecting the fight to stop climate change with the struggle for social and economic justice for First Nations and working class communities. \nLocation: Unifor’s Western Regional Office (15 minutes walking from New Westminster Skytrain Station) \nFormat: One hour panel speeches followed by one hour of open discussion and a brief wrap up. \nDonations at the door are appreciated but no one will be turned away. \nOrganizations that wish to participate in the event can contact us directly through our Facebook page and request space to set up a table and hang a banner in the room. \nPURPOSE\nPolitical leaders and oil industry pundits have divided us for years claiming that we have to make a choice between good jobs and strong communities on the one hand and justice for First Nations and real climate action on the other. Yet the impacts of climate change are already being felt in BC\, killing jobs and local economies dependent on fisheries and forestry\, with First Nations and working class communities suffering the consequences. \nThis forum is aimed at dispelling the myth that we have to sacrifice the environment to create jobs and showing how real climate justice is only possible by uniting the struggle for First Nations justice and reconciliation and the struggle for a just transition to good green jobs for workers in the fossil fuel industry. \nSPEAKERS\nMelina Laboucan-Massimo – Lubicon Solar \nRuss Day – President\, Unifor Local 601 (Chevron Refinery Workers) \nLliam Hildebrand – Iron and Earth (ironandearth.org) \nMarc Lee – Chief Economist\, Climate Justice Project – Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives \nLUBICON SOLAR (http://www.lubiconsolar.ca/)\nLubicon Solar is one of many inspiring examples of First Nations leading the way in creating green jobs for their communities and building the infrastructure of a green economy. And it’s happening in the heart of the Alberta Tar Sands! \nUNIFOR Local 601 represents refinery workers at the Chevron Refinery in Burnaby which refines 60% of the fuel consumed in the Lower Mainland. They have joined the fight\, along with their national union\, to stop Kinder Morgan as it directly threatens their jobs. \nIRON AND EARTH (ironandearth.org) is an exciting initiative led by workers in the Alberta oil industry to accelerate the transition to good green jobs by creating government funded training opportunities and pushing for green energy projects. \nCCPA’s Climate Justice Project (https://www.policyalternatives.ca/projects/climate-justice-project) has led the way in developing the economic arguments for a rapid transition to a green economy that is run on 100% renewables.

SUMMARY:News Conference: Stop the Chinatown Econ Revitalization Plan
DESCRIPTION:Chinatown Concern Group is holding a news conference on Monday morning to address the lack of transparency and respect that the City and its policy reviews have shown towards the working class Chinese community in Chinatown. Last month’s open house regarding the Chinatown Economic Revitalization Update and Development Policies Review was poorly planned and organized; notices with vague and exclusive language were not received by many buildings in the neighborhood and no revisions were made to the controversial Historic Area Heights Review that attracted so many condo developers to the neighborhood. \nCome and hear members speak about their fears and frustrations with the rate of development and exclusionary public consultation processes. \nThe press conference will be taking place on Main (near E Georgia)\, where a gentrifying Italian grocer will be opening in a couple weeks on December 3rd. This is in light of the recent trend of Chinese grocers serving the low income community closing down\, as well as local favorite\, 110 year old Italian grocer Tosi and Company.

SUMMARY:Stop Kinder Morgan: No Consent No Pipeline
DESCRIPTION:Prime Minister Trudeau’s decision on Kinder Morgan is fast approaching. Now more than ever we need a show of force to show that – no matter his choice – this region will do whatever it takes to stop this pipeline. We need to bring the spirit of Standing Rock\, where Indigenous-led grassroots opposition stopped a pipeline\, to the West Coast. \nRALLY AND MARCH\nWe will start with a brief rally at City Hall followed by a march across the Cambie Street Bridge and end at Library Square with speakers and music. This will be a family friendly event with The Peace Bearers marshalling the march. Further details addressing accessibility are coming soon. \nTAKE THE PLEDGE\nWe’re launching a “Take the Pledge” campaign to prepare for escalating actions in the event Trudeau’s cabinet approves the Kinder Morgan pipeline at the end of December. People will be able to sign the pledge and commit to supporting whatever action is necessary to stop the pipeline including peaceful civil disobedience. On November 19th we will conduct a mass public pledge to demonstrate to cabinet the scale of opposition they are facing if they attempt to move forward with Kinder Morgan. If Trudeau wants Clayoquot Sound 2.0 in the middle of Metro Vancouver – he’ll get it. \nACKNOWLEDGEMENT\nThis event takes place on the traditional\, unceded\, occupied territories of the Coast Salish peoples: the mi ce:p kʷətxʷiləm (Tsleil-Waututh)\, Skwxwú7mesh Úxwumixw (Squamish)\, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. \nMore details coming soon… \nNext Organizing Meeting\nWednesday\, October 12th (and 19th)\n7:00 to 9:00pm\nRoom B144 at Langara College \nAll groups\, organizations and individuals who want to contribute to the organizing and building of this mobilization are welcome to attend. \nYou can also message us directly through the Climate Convergence Facebook page to get more information on how to get involved.

SUMMARY:Screening: Hogan's Alley (1994)
DESCRIPTION:221A invites you to a screening of Andrea Fatona and Cornelia Wyngaarden’s Hogan’s Alley (1994)\, on Friday\, November 18 at 7pm. This event is part of a series of public programs for Rereading Room: The Vancouver Women’s Bookstore. \nIn the late 1960’s\, the City of Vancouver laid out extensive plans for ‘urban renewal’\, promising to radically transform the neighborhoods east of the downtown core. Central to this project was the construction of the Georgia Viaduct\, a twinned overpass bridge that would connect Downtown Vancouver to Main Street. If carried through according to the proposed plan\, the bridge would have displaced many of East Vancouver’s working class communities and ethnic conclaves\, including what we know now as Strathcona\, Chinatown\, and Gastown. While these areas were ultimately saved from demolition through effective community campaigning\, in 1970 the city proceeded in flattening Hogan’s Alley\, a neighbourhood that had been home to Vancouver’s first and last predominantly black community. \nHogan’s Alley presents the oral histories of Pearl Brown\, Leah Curtis\, and Thelma Gibson Towns\, three women whose narratives speak to the entangled complexities of class\, gender\, and sexuality\, as articulated in the life and aftermath of the disappeared neighbourhood. The video not only serves as a record of Hogan’s Alley and the history of black life in Vancouver\, but today takes on a renewed purpose in activating this history in the wake of the City of Vancouver’s recent plans to remove the Georgia Viaduct and redevelop the land for new housing and condominiums. \nCornelia Wyngaarden will be present during the screening for remarks and questions. The event will be followed by a reception.

SUMMARY:From Standing Rock to Burnaby Mountain
DESCRIPTION:Leadnow invites you to a free public event to hear about the growing\, continent-wide opposition to new pipelines like the Kinder Morgan and Dakota Access Pipelines. \nThurs. Nov. 17th\, 7:00-9:00pm (doors at 6:30)\nSFU Harbour Centre (515 W Hastings St)\n(see childcare details below) \nCanada’s federal government could approve the Kinder Morgan pipeline before the end of the year. In both the United States and Canada\, the Dakota Access Pipeline faces fierce resistance from Indigenous communities defending land\, water\, and sacred sites. \nCan direct action stop these new pipelines? How will fossil fuel companies and governments respond? Join us for a discussion with Indigenous and community leaders about the implications of direct action on stopping new fossil fuel infrastructure. \n## Confirmed Speakers: \nTara Houska is Ojibwe from the Couchiching First Nation has been involved with the resistance to the Dakota Access Pipeline in Standing Rock. She is a tribal attorney and National Campaigns Director for Honor the Earth. In February 2016\, Houska was appointed Native American advisor to Bernie Sanders’ campaign for President. Her work is raising the profile of important issues\, like the impact of fossil fuel extraction on women\, their children and communities and the treatment of Indigenous people by private companies and police. \nGrand Chief Stewart Phillip is the President of the Union of BC Indian Chiefs\, an organization of First Nations that works toward the “implementation\, exercise\, and recognition” of Aboriginal Rights and Title and the protection of land and water. The Grand Chief was arrested by the RCMP\, along with more than a hundred others\, during the 2014 Burnaby Mountain encampment opposing the Kinder Morgan pipeline. \n## About the Kinder Morgan Pipeline\nKinder Morgan plans to make the Burrard Inlet a major tar sands export terminal by building new facilities including a pipeline and fuel tanks. The changes will add seven times as many tankers per month to Vancouver’s narrow harbour\, increasing the likelihood of a dangerous spill of irrecoverable diluted tar sands bitumen. More than 50 Indigenous nations across North America have signed the Treaty Alliance pledging to block all proposed pipeline and tanker projects affecting First Nations’ land and water\, including the Kinder Morgan plan. In December\, the federal government will make a decision about whether to approve or reject this proposal. \n## About the Dakota Access Pipeline\nIf completed\, the US$3.8 billion Dakota Access Pipeline would carry about 470\,000 barrels of crude oil per day from the low-quality\, high-cost Bakken oilfields to Illinois. In the largest gathering of First Nations in modern American history\, Indigenous peoples have set up a defenders’ camp on land belonging to the US Army Corps of Engineers in North Dakota. \nIn September\, private security attacked Indigenous peoples with dogs\, sound cannons\, and pepper spray at an encampment defending the Standing Rock Sioux tribal burial site. In September\, the Obama administration ordered a stop to all pipeline construction on US Army Corp land and called for a “voluntary pause” on all construction activity. Nationwide solidarity actions have mobilized to compel President Obama to revoke the pipeline’s permits. \nThis event takes place on the traditional\, unceded\, occupied territories of the səlil̓wətaʔɬ (Tsleil-Waututh)\, Sḵwx̱wú7mesh (Squamish)\, and xʷməθkʷəy̓əm (Musqueam) Nations. \nWe are working on making childcare available at this event. SUMMARY:VAN Call To Action:We Stand With#StandingRock
DESCRIPTION:This event is hosted on occupied\, unceded Coast Salish territories \nOn Tuesday\, November 15th\, join a massive day of action in solidarity with those at Standing Rock\, and demand the American government and the Army Corps reject the Dakota Access Pipeline. \nIndigenous land defenders in the land occupied by the United States of America are now facing the Trump presidency. Trump has vowed to fast-track pipeline projects\, remove environmental protections\, renew the leases of coal mines\, and rescind executive orders relating to resource extraction projects. The Keystone XL pipeline will be back on the table. The Dakota Access pipeline will proceed with all the violent\, racist force of Trump’s administration. \nThe water protectors at Standing Rock need our support NOW\, more than ever. \nIndigenous peoples have been standing strong across Turtle Island\, protecting the land and water for future generations. The #noDAPL fight at Standing Rock is part of a network of land protectors and warriors. We declare our support for ALL Indigenous peoples resisting the destruction of their territories\, and this action links Standing Rock with other land defense struggles in so-called British Columbia\, at Unist’ot’en\, Lelu Island\, Madii Lii\, the Peace River Valley\, Ahousaht\, and many more. \nTHE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW. Stand with Indigenous peoples. Stand with the Oceti Sakowin. Kill the black snake. #noDAPL #MniWiconi #WaterIsLife

SUMMARY:Demovict the Metrotown Plan! Save 3000 homes!
DESCRIPTION:At the end of November\, Burnaby Council will vote on the future of every resident of low-rise apartments in the Metrotown area. If Council passes the proposed Metrotown Plan update\, they will “up-zone” every rental apartment between Boundary and Royal Oak\, and Kingsway and Imperial for condo towers that will not be affordable for the current residents. \nThe Metrotown Plan will immediately impact the approximately six thousand people living in buildings inside its zone\, and then it will affect every renter in the lower mainland as we lose 3\,000 purpose-built rental apartments from our already strained\, near-zero vacancy rate rental stock. \nMayor Corrigan’s council has ignored and denied the demovicting effectsof their rezoning policies so far\, so we know it will take pressure to stop the plan. It is not too late to stop the Metrotown Plan – join those facing eviction to save their three thousand homes! Together we march to demand: \nDemovict the plan; Save 3000 homes! Burnaby Council must reject the “Downtown” Metrotown Plan and start from scratch with participation of the affected community to develop a “regional growth plan” that doesn’t displace established residents. Lower mainland renters can’t handle the loss of three thousand apartment units. \nPlacement before displacement! Hundreds of renters are already scheduled to be evicted through rezonings permitted under Burnaby’s old Metrotown plan and approved by City Council\, and they report that Burnaby’s existing tenant relocation supports are inadequate. We call on Burnaby council to ensure every renter is placed in new housing they can afford before they are displaced from their existing homes. \nOrganized by the Stop Demovictions Burnaby Campaign\nhttp://stopdisplacement.ca/burnaby\norganize@stopdisplacement.ca\nTwitter: @stopdisplacemnt\nFacebook: Against Displacement
