VAN Call To Action:We Stand With#StandingRock

November 15, 2016- 5:00 pm - 10:00 pm

This event is hosted on occupied, unceded Coast Salish territories

On Tuesday, November 15th, join a massive day of action in solidarity with those at Standing Rock, and demand the American government and the Army Corps reject the Dakota Access Pipeline.

Indigenous land defenders in the land occupied by the United States of America are now facing the Trump presidency. Trump has vowed to fast-track pipeline projects, remove environmental protections, renew the leases of coal mines, and rescind executive orders relating to resource extraction projects. The Keystone XL pipeline will be back on the table. The Dakota Access pipeline will proceed with all the violent, racist force of Trump’s administration.

The water protectors at Standing Rock need our support NOW, more than ever.

Indigenous peoples have been standing strong across Turtle Island, protecting the land and water for future generations. The #noDAPL fight at Standing Rock is part of a network of land protectors and warriors. We declare our support for ALL Indigenous peoples resisting the destruction of their territories, and this action links Standing Rock with other land defense struggles in so-called British Columbia, at Unist’ot’en, Lelu Island, Madii Lii, the Peace River Valley, Ahousaht, and many more.

THE TIME FOR ACTION IS NOW. Stand with Indigenous peoples. Stand with the Oceti Sakowin. Kill the black snake. #noDAPL #MniWiconi #WaterIsLife
