Climate Convergence Meeting – Site C approval, what’s next for Climate Convergence?

Join us for the August meeting of People’s Climate Convergence, where the diverse strands of the climate justice movement come together every month to strategize, organize and build grassroots mobilization.

This month we’re featuring speakers from the Fight C campaign and discussing what Trudeau’s approval of Site C means for the Climate Justice Movement and the struggle for First Nations’ rights. We’ll also discuss what we can do to support FIght C’s next major action in September.

We’ll also begin organizing for a National Mobilization being called by350.org and Lead Now for late October to demand real climate action in the National Climate Plan.

The Delivering Community Power Campaign through People For Posties-Vancouver will be updating us on the upcoming Pan-Canadian day of action on September 17th in solidarity with Postal Workers and what we can do to support it.

As always there will be key updates, reports and announcements from a wide range of climate action groups. In particular this month we’ll have a report back from the Unist’ot’en Action Camp, and we’re inviting activists from the Imperial Metals Blockade to give an update on their struggle.

Look forward to seeing you there.
