A Fundraiser for Wild Salmon, Sovereignty and Justice

“Our fight against fish farms is for the benefit of all people because wild salmon is the backbone of this coast”

Join the Musgamagw Dzawada’nuxw on October 22nd at the Grandview Calvary Church for a night of story telling, videos, food & fundraising.

The Musgamagw Dzawada’nuxw are on the front lines of evicting fish farms from their traditional territories in BC. In the past weeks they have boarded fish farms, held cleansing ceremonies, and found hard video evidence of the impacts these feedlots have on wild salmon.

For nearly 30 years, this nation has opposed all fish farms in their waters. Despite this lack of consent, the Provincial and Federal governments have placed 1/3rd of the fish farming industry on their traditional territory.

With the introduction of this industry the wild salmon stocks have been disappearing. In 2015 alone, the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw lost 40% of their wild salmon due to a sea lice outbreak from the farms.

There has never been a more important time to stand with the Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw. Since time immemorial they have protected their salmon and herring for future generations. Join them in continuing this legacy and kicking every fish farm out of their territory!

The event will include first hand experiences from Musgamagw Dzawada’enuxw Hereditary Chief Willie Moon and Councillors Midori Nicolson & Melissa Willie about their fight and short films produced by filmmakers Lindsey Mae Willie & Tamo Campos.
