Tsilhqot’in Fundraiser – Vancouver
January 31, 2017- 7:00 pm - 10:00 pm
This event will take place on the unceded, traditional and ancestral territories of Musqueam, Squamish and Tsleil-Waututh peoples.
Grand Chief Stewart Phillip, Xeni Gwet’in Chief Roger William, and Yunesit’in Chief Russell Myers Ross are bringing the story of Teztan Biny (aka Fish Lake) and Tsilhqot’in Nation’s legal defense against Taseko Mines to Vancouver.
MC Susan Smitten, RAVEN Executive Director, will guide the evening through the Chiefs’ speeches and video presentation, a loonie raffle and a silent auction. Raffle & auction prizes generously provided by PatagoniaVancouver, Lush Cosmetics North America, local artists and more!
Tea, coffee, cookies, bannock and other refreshments will be served. This is a dry event.
Co-hosted with Tsilhqot’in National Government, Union of B.C. Indian Chiefs, Wilderness Committee, The Council of Canadians, Amnesty International Vancouver and Friends of the Nemaiah Valley.
Entry is suggested at $10 per person but no one will be turned away for lack of funds.
